Is released today the 1st of march featuring the single Glass Figures it marks the bands first serious assult on the music buying public, as such it stands out as a great example of guitar and synth driven indie pop.
This is a great thing to see as the indie scene has become dare one say boring of late with numerous copies of other bands to hear in a young band a sound which is unique to them is refreshing, and makesyou think there is an alternative to the oh so conventional chart fodder which is doing the rounds.
The clear stand out track for us is Glass Figures however the rest of the album is almost as strong and stands on its own as one of the best debut albums we have heard in a longtime .
Motion Picture Soundtracks The Shapes we fear are of our own a great album which shows indie can be beatifully complex 9 / 10
Motion Picture Soundtrack the Kent based alt/rock band are building on the release of their critically acclaimed Departure EP with Glass Figures which comes from their forthcoming album on endgame records due for release on the 22nd February.
Glass Figures marks their maturing as performers into a band with a much darker sound still with the orchestral arrangement and soaring vocals that was evident on the Departure EP, but now with added confidence to explore beyond the stereotyped alt/rock genre.
This in part could be down to the time taken on this single and the album with contributions from the producers of the verve stone roses and radiohead to name but a few which have allowed the band to develop from their first EP to this which could mark their emergence as a major band.
Motion Picture Soundtrack Glass Figures their best song to date…..Out 22nd Feb
